Black Girl Magic

AJ 1980 (NY)

Black Girl
Know your worth
Know your beauty
Be confident
Stand tall
Be proud
Your skin warm like honey & glowin like the stars in the night sky
Your hair with its kinks & coils, braids & blow outs, wigs & weaves, all different colors, styles & lengths....that’s why it’s called Black Girl Magic because we are magic, we change our identity wiry each look, we are fabulous.
Black girl, you are not a trend, nor are you an exotic adventure for the white boys to “try”,  you are not acting out The Bronx Tale, you are unique, one of a kind yes, but not just to be someone else’s escapade or quote fill.
Black girl love your body, those hips you swing back & forth, the big booty you try to hide, it’s beautiful. From the ends of your hair to the nails on your feet, everything about you is beautiful. God created you to be special, realize that, embrace that. When you sweat it glistens as it rolls down your golden brown skin to the dimples at the small of your back.
Black girl show off your rhythm. You dance to the beat of a different drum, the drums your African ancestors beat at celebrations. Celebrate yourself, Love yourself, Be yourself.
Black girl straighten your crown & never let it fall off. You are a Queen and this deserve to be treated as one. Never settle, know that whoever you allow into your life must respect you, love you, support you, raise you up when you are down.
Black girl you are a diamond. You shine from the inside out, everywhere you go, you bring light, joy & peace.
