The High Apples

Painful to watch
Painful to see
The pain comes quick
when falling out of a tree

It is painful to do
It is painful to feel
Watch out below
The pain is real

There is an ouch over here
There is an ouch over there
It feels like there is
an ouch everywhere

I picked all the low apples
and the ones on the ground
At least all the ones
that could be found

But I wanted the high apples
that refused to fall
So I placed my ladder
and went to get them all

Then everything changed
in the blink of an eye
The ladder broke loose
and it and I did fly
