FROM OUT OF THE SHADOWS

From out of the shadows
Creeps foul abominations,
Imps, and elves, and pixie folk
Terrors of many denominations.

Atrocities out of time and space
Come to wreak evil upon Man,
Crystalline creatures in the dark
Hoping to annihilate all humans.

Predators of all shapes and sizes
Hoping soon that they may feast,
On anything they can run down
But their favourite is human meat.

Winged reptiles from out of time
Soaring swiftly well overhead,
Waiting, watching, contemplating
Hoping soon to make the streets red.

If they catch you out of doors
The streets will run red with blood,
As they rip, and rend, and tear you
Your life fluid will flow out in a flood.

From out of the shadows
Comes long-forgotten creatures,
Nightmares from another world
Heads and bodies grossly misshapen.

Shrieking like the sound of death
As unknown horrors follow you,
Hungry for the taste of hot blood
Appalling beings science never knew.

In the dark and lonely night
Shadowy figure lurching your way,
Hoping soon to overtake you
Long before the sun's bright rays.
