the quilter's hand

Sunflower seeds embroidered
And sewn to the ground in rows.
of beds of browns and rosy reds.
Pinned down by the sun's rays.
With warm golden threads and fabrics of yellows.
Stitch by stitch blues and greens stretch across.
landscapes into fertile lands and flowing rivers.
Winding and weaving its way by the quilter's hand.
into the sprouting beds.
