We are a broken people

They call us the Palestinians
From the deserts to the camels
To skyscrapers and sports cars
Riches and oil is what they know us for
Search deeper and you’ll see the truth
Listen to our voices tremble as we speak
Pain and suffering is our native tongue

Our historical roots are buried deep down
From each heart beat; My blood is Palestinian
A war between oppression and expression
From the red river to the Black Sea
If I could give Palestine a gift;
It would be laughter and peace
Newton discovered gravity from a falling apple
Palestinians fall no one has discovered humanity

We are a broken people purely for land
I pray kids will wake up to birds and not bombs
Palestine is dying in order to live
If the olive tree knew what was happening to the hands that planted them; its oil would turn tears
The victory march will continue until the Palestinian flag flies up high

I want to tell the world a story; one of truth
You steal my land
You destroy my olive trees
You build walls around me
You blockade me in
You drop bombs as we sleep
You kill my brothers and sisters
But I am to blame once I throw a rock

History may not repeat itself; but it often rhymes
You don’t need to be Muslim to stand for what’s fair
