Backfire Burns The Backlash

Many living cemented stubbornly,
Have already proven themselves to be...
Unconscious and behind,
Times fast moving.
That has blown away toupays.
And wigs worn under hats.
Glued and strapped to gone yesterdays.

'To correctly spell,
That would be toupee not toupay!'

Hey?
To pee and not to pay,
Is not the topic of the day.
I'm talking about hair to wear,
Obviously worn to appear not theirs!

'Oh...
Then why didn't you say it that way?'

Alter-ego?

'Yes?'

I have yet to finish.
This is about,
What is inside of one's head.
Not what is laid on top of it.
Well...
Where was I going with this?

And what I was saying,
Before being interrupted is this...
Many living have already shown,
A doing of anything...
To stay away from the unknown.

'I know you're talking about me.'

MANY LIVING WITH HEADS,
THICK AS BRICKS.
Making themselves restless.
Until they become mentally sick.
(...'like you.')
I heard that.
They are the ones who have already decided,
Staying limited in mind...
Is a safer life than finding out,
No light comes to shine...
In a darkened open mouth.
To eventually discover,
This blinding adventure offers no benefits.

Although...
Who is it that really knows,
If a black as midnight tunnel...
Followed for years.
Has a light seen at the end of it,
That begins to dry...
The regretting of their weeping tears.

'And...
Check this out.
Those who insist,
Repeating the path,
Of the past their ancestors had?
After dwelling in caves to become nomads?
Could for them just be an attempt,
To rewrite their own history and experiences.
That includes the truth.
Not to delude.
Or ever fiction it again.
How does that sound?'

How does it sound?
I finished what I had to say,
When I said...
Who is it that really knows,
If a black as midnight tunnel...
Followed for years.
Has a light seen at the end of it.
That begins to dry...
The regretting of their weeping tears!

'Where is the struggle?
The anguish, sorrow and pain?
You ended 'your' contribution,
Without mentioning anything...
About them begging for forgiveness!'

You...
Are my alter-ego, right,

'I...okay,
Yes.'

Well...
I'm doing the best I can to stay optimistic.

'OH yeah?
Then where did all of that other,
Bull headed, judgement passing...
Negativity come from?
And don't blame that...
High pretentious hypocrisy on me!'

You?
You're the unchanging stubborn side of me.
God knows...
How long I have tried to ignore you.
However...
One thing seems to remain certain.
And perfectly clear.

'And...
What might that be?'

If I had not introduce you as a part of me,
No one would pay me any attention at all!

'I knew eventually,
You would find a way...
To take all the credit.
Like a backfire burning the backlash.'

Say that again!

'Like a backfire burning the backlash.'

I love it!
A BACKFIRE BURNS THE BACKLASH.

'I knew this was going to happen.
As God is my witness...
I knew it!'
