A river runs underneath
Cold, with jagged rocks
Above a roaring carnival
The best on the block
Lights, sounds, and laughter
The magician’s greatest trick
Under the illusion
A heart in conflict
Beneath the joyous applause
The upbeat tempo of the band
Lies a sad symphonic tune
As infinite as all the sand
It’s heart wrenching melody
Giving a better view
To all that’s been hidden
So far but close to you
Words and feelings of torment
Longing for the surface above
Self-prescribe the medicine
Freeing my words of love
Sunlight bathe me now
Warm the waters cold below
Help what I’ve been fighting for
Win with love and let her know
