Your eyes

Your eyes
Only able to be described with feelings
With words that have never been spoken
With my whole life inside them
Staring warmly into my soul
I dare not return your gaze for too long out of fear I may one day never look away
So curious, your eyes
Yearning for me to reach out and touch your soul
Urging me to not let this one get away
Something that doesn’t belong to anyone here
There’s something about your eyes
Something untamed
Something wild
Something as tall and strong and firm as a redwood forest
Something new
Something special
Something kind? Something Real?
Everything.
A life
Two lives
More?
Eternity in two patient, unwavering spherical orbs
Every single moment
The longer I gaze into them,
The more certain the horizon ahead becomes.
So delicate.
Love
So easily shattered into a million little pieces scattered far and wide for you to retrieve and glue back together or toss away, never to be seen again
Your eyes.
Unable to be described to their fullest potential
With words that will never be spoken
With my whole life inside them
Staring forever into my soul
