Hospital Room

The empty hallways smelling of cleaning solution

I recollect being tied down to a hospital bed my faint screams echoing throughout the room

Being injected with a sedative I feel woozy and slowly go unconscious

Awake once again I smell something metallic I can taste it
 So bitter

I recollect the nurses coming in to check on me “rate your pain at a scale of 1 to 10”

I swallow heavily “9”

I lie to not bring attention to myself

I'm utterly exhausted and worn out

My labored breaths are shallow

I’m home again under the covers it smells like fabric softener

It’s comforting

I turn in my sleep somethings not right

My skin is burning hot to the touch

A fever I yearn to sweat out

I’m back in the hospital once more

I wish I wish I wish I would die

That way the suffering would finally stop
