Rainbows Edge

Today I cry, Today I scream
That in this life you didn’t have to depart
Wishing today was only a dream
It left me with a broken heart
As my tears break through
Im wishing I had got
More years, days or even hours with you
So for now I’ll cherish every thought
Brave and beautiful I watched you be
Not knowing you carried so much pain
Not once allowing me to see
You fighting hard to break free from that chain
So go ahead and close your eyes
And rest your heart
For that big bright blue sky
Is your precious reward, your brand new start
And as you sit so high up above
And look down on me
I hope you can feel my love
And proud of me is what you’ll be.
