Fall Ways

Cold-comfort days,
Leaves—a thousand colors light my way;
A flock of birds in sun's way,
Chilly hearts can play!
I want you to stay and be gone tomorrow,
Returning—starts and ends my sorrows;
A dew drop's shine in hardened mists,
Fall days to keep me crisp.

About this poem

This is one of the all-time favorite poems I wrote about the current season we're in. It captures the tensions brought in by the changes of leaves, migrations, and romantic moods.

    A great Autumn poem
    My favorite season, full of yellow and gold !
    And raking the leaves.
