questions

Questions, so many questions
Why, what,  how
Remembering old questions, so many questions
Why is there a statue of boots? a hat?  a rifle?
The boots that signified the Soldier's last march onto the battlefield
The hat represented what the Soldier stood for
and that their battle is now over
The rifle denotes that the Soldier went down fighting
Questions and answers, so many questions

An answer, something much more important than the question asked
What do the coins on the grave mean?
 Pennys, nickels, dimes, and quarters
Pennies, you visited their grave
Nickels, you and the deceased soldier trained at boot camp together
Dimes, you served alongside them
Quarters, you were there when the soldier fell
we are not curious about the question, but it's the answer we crave

How many
2,401 Afghanistan
40,000 Korea
58,220 Vietnam
Questions, we all have questions, so  many questions
Keep asking for there will never be enough answers
All gave some , but some gave all
