The one who eludes and outwits
Manipulates the unappreciated
The one who takes the little to give.
Yet you,
Who enchants and delights
Amuses the most tired soul,
No fear of drought from the well of charm.
However charming you may be,
And appearance never a worry.
Cruelty prevails.
Not due to circumstance or moral
Simply by choice
Proudly turning to food the genuine
Only taking the easy way.
A promise unacknowledged
Ceases to be a promise at all.
A hollow sentiment
Lack of humanity
Lack of soul.
Pride unchained and wild
Gentle seconds followed by empty hours.
You, however, are the unlucky one.
You do not see the harvest before the growth,
Or the assets behind you
Leaving them thirsty in the bright window seal.
Souls are not meant to be cruel,
And should often stray from those who are,
Like you.
