A girl I knew

A girl I knew once said to me: "I'll love you forever".
A girl like her said the same thing but I implied "I'm most clever".
Then her friend whispered in my ear "I'll be yours if you only let me".
Great! A one night stand that won't forget me.
A girl I knew, said she knew all the girls I've dated.
And that girl wanted me so deeply agitated.
Once I knew the girl I knew? Became the girls I knew were never true.
But in light of humor and in light towards you.
I'll always love
The girls I knew.
