Sandman

Sandman

Will the sandman come to visit me?
Will he close my eyes so I may see?
All the darkness within that he generates
All the malevolence that reeks from his hate?
Will he show me a glimpse from the past?
Of a love he knew would never last?
Will he continue to laugh at my naivete?
Will he continue to keep walking away?
For once will he stop, and turn around?
To glimpse where his life was always bound?
Open your eyes sandman, don't look back,
It is a dead end street where you are at.
Just let go of all of your hate,
Look in my eyes it's not too late.
Do you see the love that is shining there?
Or will you turn away without a care?
It may be that you will,
Heed me, I love you still.
