Happiness Had To Have It

Peace of mind earned to receive,
Unexpectedly.
Takes living to forgive.

Seeking obstacles and negativity,
As a normal way to live.
Will never leave one's belief,
They have created their own grief.

A happiness had to have it felt,
Does not often come as a gift...
Delivered by someone else.
It's in the wanting that reaches,
Deep within oneself to yearn.

Happiness to nourish it,
Begins with acceptance...
To realize what has been done,
In the past to let go.
See it for what it is.
Along with the wrongs,
One knows not theirs to belong.
And forgiving any bitterness to feel.
To let God do the healing.
Step aside.
And allow God to do what God does.
With a letting go and moving on.
There is no need for anyone,
To explain to God what the deal is.

A happiness had to have it,
Can be had by anyone who decides,
What kind of life they would rather live.
Since to look for sorrows,
Discouragement and grief...
Will be found to find.
If one stays determined,
This is what they choose to seek.
As a life to fulfill that want to wish!
And the mind is a terrible thing to send,
Mixed and unidentified signals.
You know...
I want this.
No.
I want that.
No!
Nevermind.
It's like being in a marriage.
Not knowing if the saying 'I do',
Activated a curse on the relationship!
Leaving one thrilled to awaken,
From a nightmare.

'HI.
It's good to see you.
I haven't seen you in awhile.
How's it going?'

'So-so.
Dealing with the same stuff.
Everyday it's the same old thing.
The only thing I can depend to change,
Is the weather.'

'I am so happy for you.
Congratulations.'

'Congratulations?
Didn't you hear what I just said?'

'Yeah, I did.
Some folks have no clue,
What it is they want.
At least you know you are miserable.
And everyday that's your expectation.
You must feel such relief.'

'Are you nuts?
Who would consciously,
Want to live a life like that?
Day in and day out.'

'I'm confused.'

'I thought you were bragging.
Trying to make me feel guilty!'

'Yeah!
I get up each morning,
Wanting to feel happy.
And thanking God to be blessed,
That all my nightmares have left.
Not to know,
Folks like yourself...
Enjoy feeling as miserable as possible!'

Unlike you,
Some folks don't have time,
To get up feeling so fantastic.
I got bills and debts to pay.
False friends who borrow money,
I have not seen in months.
And all that happy talk,
Won't satisfy my creditors.'

Your life is yours to live it, right?'

Why not enjoy the life you have chosen.'
