Replay (I)

Even if I found true love
One of us will die first
One of us will cry in the moonlight
Go inside hurting
Time's indifferent to our problems
Like a new life
All I've worked for in more than half of my days
Is worth stories that will never make it to a stage
The connections that I've made
Turn to ashes or a corpse
My inventions, my claims
Are just average in a corner
No class or religion separates the fact
That we're all in this scrambling
Take me back
To a place that I can go when this gets to bad
A state I didn't know
All this waste is just a waste of breath
There is no safe space
There's just taking chances
Am I late
What does it matter
I guess just pile on the hope
Wonder why I never noticed this before

About this poem

I wrote this poem/song questioning if this is a simulation where I wake up and repeat the same horrors over and over. The chorus on Spotify sums up that idea.
