Bereft of Sensation

sometimes I'm overtaken
by the puddled images in my mind
thoughts like poison
swallow me
I can no longer hear my muted heart
nor advise my body to revolt.

if only I could leave on my own !
for my spirit finds only a blank wall -
to climb would just be insane
I realize I've been pressing out the sun
but even then how can I resist ?
maybe I've written this doom.

there is a hard dry fragrance that calls
urging my footsteps along
while my eyes feel a border of persistence
I'm somewhere alone with this urgency
how could anyone see this pleasing calmness
that awaits us all.

no one cares if the poison is sweet or bitter
nor if it could make me fall !
I assume that I've seen all of the beauty
that's surrounded me !
I doubt there could be anything left for me to see.

awe ! this green perfect bottle begs my hands
while it glistens across the shadows of my eyes
daring my lips to kiss it for a second
while I look one last time around the room
daylight doesn't resist my thirst
as the darkest night covers my soul.

so much freedom in this elixir !
the taste of life escapes so silently
as shadows escort my spirit beyond the sunrise
no more glinting- tragic moments to remember
nor thoughts to try and analyze from the grave
those times I wished to meet the grim reaper
now can be only realized !
