The Forgotten Angel

Katie Elaine Ford-Delay 1988 (Wilmington, Ohio)

Remember when I gave you my innocence?
You rejected me & bullied me..
You laughed at me with your friends and next of kin
I acted as if I were unaware
I always remained fair
Continued to care
Remember your second chance?
I forgave you and never hated you.
I gave you all my love.
Kisses & Hugs
I catered to you
Uplifted and stood up for you
Remember when you were completely lost and broken?
I helped you up
no matter the cost
Remember when everyone turned against you?
Was I not the only one there for you?
Remember those tears you cried?
I was the one to dry your eyes
While you continiously lied and was the cause of mine
Remember how I sacrificed it all for you
Stood again and again
Even more loyal and true
Remember when you had never been loved?
I came in and gave you unconditional healing love.
You broke me
Made me believe I was crazy
Made me feel as if my memory was hazy
And still my heart and soul craves you
Forgives and Loves you
I was never good enough
Remember when you said you thought you could get some one prettier
Before you knew what the definition of pretty was
You chose lust and greed
Despite my warnings you didn't take heed
I continued to plant seeds
Not knowing where it would lead
How many times was I going to allow you to make my heart bleed?
Not anymore
I have seen it, heard it all before
For you, I am just too pure

About this poem

Although the pain & healing process may look ugly at times and even make me seem unstable..I am just being authentic with where I am at and on a positive note it sometimes inspires me to create
