Tell Me Now

Pranav Joshi 2006 (Dubai)

Don't tell me later
Tell me now
Don't carry that burden on your shoulder
It will make you a cold-hearted creature
It's not the high ground you're taking
Rather becoming a person who is faking

Do me a favor and break me now
Now my heart can heal better
And open itself to life's true nature
Later it will feel like a crater
Digging deeper and deeper into a surface so soft
Uprooting the crops I've grown on my croft.

About this poem

It is important that one doesn't hide their feelings about someone, especially feelings of love, because it is unfair to the person you love. They have to live everyday unaware of the fact that somebody loves them, or unaware of the fact that somebody loves them back. The poem is also about having good communication in any relationship, hiding crucial details is always harmful and toxic. The more one hides from a person that they care about, the more of a devil they become in the eyes of the person they care about.
