I look at you, you look at me

Lana Tbatou 1962 (Bloomington)

I look at you, you look at me
We wonder was it ever meant to be
Years we’ve known each other, years we’ve cared
Years I’ve cried and shedded so many years
I long to hold you in my arms
To touch you, feel you and all your charm
One day I hope we meet you see
One day I hope you want to be with me
So many years I’ve waited patiently for you
So many years I’ve longed for you too
Longing to hold you in my arms
To touch you and know all your charms
But it looks like to me
That this is never going to be
So I put you in a special place in my heart
I lock that heart and throw away the key
There you will stay till the day comes
The day maybe that we can be as one
My heart heavy and confused you see
I thought you really wanted to be with me
Don’t forget what we’ve had all these years
Don’t forget that I always loved you my dear
