FROM OUT OF THE DARKNESS

From out of the darkness
Slink sinister creatures,
Loathsome in their countenance
With unbearable facial features.

From out of flickering shadows
Comes unrelenting terror,
Looking for some evil sport
Beings from some ancient era.

Wingbeats filling the night air
As leviathan things fly near,
Shrilling like the Devil's own
Enough to make you die of fear.

Overhead shrieking rings out
From the demon birds in flight,
Hunting after the same quarry
Angrily they start to fight.

On the ground loathsome crawlers
Leave a deadly acidic trail,
Blue-green sickly-smelling slime
Left behind from their foul tail.

From out of the darkness
Gross atrocities cavort,
Hoping for a human feast
Lounging at the Devil's court.

Abominations slither by
In the dark, unfriendly night,
Horrid beings from your nightmares
Far too awful for human sight.
