GEEZER GOSSIP

GEEZER GOSSIP

Godly intentions sputter
words dripping blood down
the lines of communication ironically
cast with the flutter of
excitement girls get when
they are being heard
by the group

not intended, of course
for the subject
matters which are left untouched
then hug and immerse the soul of interest
exposing the unexpected raw truth
just as you feared yourself

memories flood your blood as the reddess
of your face beams,
a fire, a warning

validating the extra warm hellos of valentine
were in fact pity and concern, rather than extraordinary love
the realization that on the family tree
you branched out and became this...this TRAGIC
branch, not the beautiful, extending,  growing vine
 your sisters resemble

awakened by the shame, fueled by embarrassment
the usual stage of
being frozen in fear
erupts instead into action
as I sit and listen
my masculine DNA replicating
mimicking my  branch
above me

this is a wake up call
this is not a nightmare
this is an alarm
this call was real
