¡Me dueles Panamá!,
Mi historia se está borrando.
Se pierde tu identidad
La pobreza va aumentando.
¡Duele mucho mi país!
Ya no encuentro nacionales
los veo solo en carnavales
al quererse divertir.
¡Más me dueles Panamá!
cuando los que te gobiernan
buscan cien y un maneras
para poder sólo hurtar.
Me duelen las 10 provincias
sus tierras y habitantes
dormidos quedan constante
ante la corrupción prominente
y el "No hacer" del presidente
nos hace “comer un cable”.
¡Me dueles Panamá!
Tu economía y educación.
Tu sociedad, todo tu Istmo.
El que me ahogue en pesimismo
luego de ver tanta violencia
ni con orgullo y reverencia
cantan tus hijos el himno.
Y como puño en mi estómago
poco puedo respirar,
más mantengo la dignidad
de ser tu fiel ciudadano
Y aunque pegues ¡Yo te amo!
¡Aunque duela!, ¡Panamá!
