My big Brother

Many times I have so much to say
But this is different because you didn’t stay
I still needed you to help me and guide me like you always have
But God needed you more so you chose the glory path
This pain I feel is unbearable it’s like no other
Lord please tell me what am I supposed to do without my brother
My first best friend my forever friend
The one that protected me all the way until the end
There is nothing like a brothers love
But I pray you sore free just like a dove
I feel so helpless I wanted to take away your pain
And even when I told you that you still didn’t feel the same
You fought a big fight against cancer and when God called you answered
You’re my hero now and forever
And one day we’ll be back together
I know for now its temporary and it won’t be long
But I still can’t believe you’re gone
We were always taught no matter what to love one another
Well I love you Myron Lee Bracken...My big brother

About this poem

I wrote this following my brothers death back in January so I tried to put most of my hurt and feelings into writing hoping I would find some comfort in it

Aquilla Bracken

Im a 33 year old single mom from Denver Co. I have always loved to write. I grew up in memphis Tn and I love to travel. I have lived many places but always found my way back home. I also love to sing but my voice is for church. It has always been me and my brother. We were 11 months apart so for 30 days we are the same age. God has other plans so despite my pain I want to believe walking by faith and not by sight 2nd Corinthians 5:7 more…
