Taking Understanding For Granted

One should never take for granted,
What is believed to understand...
To later realize,
What was thought to understand...
Taken out of context,
Misunderstood.
For example...
Remember when I told you,
What was done you did to be stupid?

And then you had an attitude,
When I called you...
One of the dumbest fools,
I had ever met?

What were you thinking,
Later that same week...
When I said repeatedly to you,
No imbecile or an idiot...
Would go out of their way,
To prove they were brainless...
Pathetic and a waste of breath to breathe?

To now realize,
You're no different than anyone else...
Wanting to hope,
