OUT OF THE DARK OF NIGHT

Out of the dark of the night
Loathsome creatures are calling,
Through the innocent sleeping town
Malevolent fiends are crawling.

Destructive beings are haunting
Out in the darkened alleyways,
Hoping soon to make a killing
Before night-time passes away.

Phantom shapes are gliding
Throughout the midnight town,
Shrilly squealing in the night
As maleficent moonlight shines down.

Night predators as hunting
For anything living, they can eat,
Plantlife, cats, birds, or dogs
But most especially human meat.

Out of the dark of the night
Hungry animals are searching,
For anything to kill and devour
As through alleys, they go lurching.

Midnight is the witching hour
Nefarious beasts are on the loose,
Hunting for food, or just to kill
Beneath the light of a toxic moon.
