Who am I?

The woman of today- Who am in?

Am I the innocent girl from back in the day, who sang, danced and played in a natural way
Or am I the strong-willed woman of today, who works hard, dreams big and wants a legacy to stay

The aspiring daughter who wishes to fulfill parents’ dreams
Or the sis, wife and mom who strives to provide no matter how impossible things may seem.

Sometimes I’m a leader, other times I follow,
Sometimes I blast, sometimes I swallow

I can be a foundation, strong and firm,
I can be a warrior, fight on my own terms

I look into the mirror and here is what I see,
A bit of it all, an amalgam of me
I am not constant I evolve everyday,
A new ‘me’ adds to my yesterday

The innocence oozes out and the wisdom kicks in,
Along come stubbornness and senility within

Some changes are for good and some not so,
Some happen spontaneously and some gradual, as may know.

So I refuse to fit a stereotype, I believe in creating my own
I will strive for the best in all spheres, I will leave no stone unturned

I think, I reason . I learn everyday, Cogito ergosum, I AM HERE TO STAY.
