THE HOUSE IN THE WOODS

A dark house in the woods
Where nothing holy lives inside,
Only the ghosts of yesterday
All the people who have died.

From time-to-time lost travellers
Will journey into the house,
By dawn, the house is empty again
Yet no-one ever comes out.

Is it a gardinal, perhaps?
Or does something evil dwell within?
Something living, or undead
Possessing this house of sin?

Dreadful noises resound
From within in dead of night,
Gurgling, slurping, belching
'Nough to make you die of fright.

A dark house in the woods
Where only the fallen go,
With walls sticky with fluids
Only fear and horror is known.

Is the house itself alive
Like some demonical manse?
If you dare to step inside
Have you got the Devil's chance?

After twilight has fallen
Moaning noises ring out,
And horrid, gnashing sounds
From within the empty house.

A dark house in the woods
From which terror emanates,
Seeping out like rusty water
Echoing down a rusty grate.
