NIGHT MONSTERS

Night Gaunts haunt your dreams
Bringing your nightmares alive,
Haunting you, hunting you
Till you barely can survive.

Maticores, zombies, and griffins
Pervading your every thought,
Until your hopes of sanity
All seem to come to naught.

Travellers, reapers, ghouls
Slinking through the dark night,
Making you long for the daytime
Fearful of, encroaching twilight.

Endless streams of atrocities
Invading your waking dreams,
Swirling, twirling through your mind
Till nothing is as it seems.

El Chupacabra is approaching
As, helplessly you sleep,
In through your bedroom window
Then around your room he creeps.

Vampires, werewolfs, and egrigors
Lurching through your house,
As quiet as death itself
Much quieter than any mouse.

Doppelgangers and the bugler
Marching to a lonesome song,
Telling you, your time is nigh
Your life just isn't strong.

Atonal melodies reach out
From every nook and bend,
Telling you, this dreadful night
Is when your life must end.

THE END
