Rise up

As I still struggle to find the man I want to be
The world keeps moving while I’m trying to come back to reality
Kept me as a prisoner trapped in my mind for what seems like an eternity
Clouded by the darkness of the past trapped like a singularity

Unassured of what awaits me at this never-ending struggle of mine
Must keep pressing on to untie the knots built inside me and to restart time
In the beginning again unaware of what the future has in store for me
Hoping for the best but be aware that nothing in life is a guarantee

What’s real or not cant find my way out of this inception
Haunted memories still linger to this day to my deception
The shattered soul still lives on despite the many trials thrown upon me
Licking my wounds and one day rise up like a phoenix you’ll see...

The past is the past and there’s a reason why it should stay that way
But learn from the experience and look forward to another day
Not all things are cast in the darkness waiting to burn in an eternal flame
To with I stop blaming myself and step onto the world to hear my name
