Sun Kissed Copper Pine Trails.

Heather Lydia Thornhill 1981 (Manchester)

Father knew the forest but our city childhood hadn't given it away until then.
We hiked the root risen path through needles of amber bedding.
Squirrels, badgers and foxes nowhere in sight, the game evened throughout the country that night like day.
Until strewn and ripe the floor spiked with shells and spheres in autumn play.
We all had coughs and running noses but it was brushed aside for one special trip.
Once collected in bulging bags and pockets we were in delights beyond any christmas wrappers could drop.
Watching the warm expectation on his face as we were driven home again for the win. Choosing the right size, colour, and strength for the spin. Let the competition begin!
