Hindsight

Should anyone who confesses,
With captivating theatrics.
Scene stealing.
And heart stopping dramatics.
To admit being thoughtless,
Selfish and unappreciative of others.
Done to come to address,
Having a hindsight of regrets.
Nolonger to get a peaceful night,
Of undisturbed rest.
Should anyone like this...
Emotionally tortured be forgiven?

'Why and for what?'

'For coming forward.
Do you have any suggestions?'

'Well...
Reluctantly I do.
Since I have experienced,
Going through this...
Painful and gut wrenching dilemma.'

'Please share with us your thoughts.'

'I must say,
Forgiving others...
Although at times,
Can be a difficult process.
How about...
And I say this with sincerity.
How about...
If their lives were purposely ruined.
By rumors and lies to tell.
Destroying their credibility.
And all relationships they had,
With friends, family and business people.
To have these folks actually believe,
Them to be lowlife opportunists.
Deceivers of truth and reality.
To then claim it had all been a joke.
And they should not have taken,
What was done to them seriously.
Since...
Everybody knows mistakes are made.'

'Uh...
What you suggest,
Is hypothetical, right?
As a means to add some...levity!'

'Levity?
Oh...
Yes. Yes, right.
Levity!'

'Okay.
Including hypothetical.
And a touch of humor.
Let's say...
Those folks ridiculed, punished.
Victimized and mentally abused.
What thoughts should they have,
When asked by another...
For their forgiveness?'

'Hmmm...good question.
I had not thought about that seriously.
However...
And, hypothetically speaking, of course,
How long does it take...
Before a cringing hindsight to develope it,
Comes to celebrate the ruining...
Of someone's life.
Meant and intended to do?'

'You can not be serious?'

'I'm doing the best I can.
Since...
It still has taken me years to recover,
From my own 'hypothetical' anguish!
