INTO THE AWFUL NIGHT

Out into the awful night
Innocent couples are walking,
While only metres behind them
Evil creatures are stalking.

Shadowy figures following
As the guileless couple walk,
Watching them holding hands
Hearing their lovers's talk.

Strolling slowly hand-in-hand
The lovers reach a wooden bench,
Then as the stalkers close in
They smell a monstrous stench.

Too late the couple turn around
To face an abominable dread,
Then in the morning a passerby
Finds the couple cruelly dead.

Out into the awful night
Malignant creatures crawling,
Shrilling beneath the moonlight
Malevolent beings are calling.

Under the blood moon's rays
Sinister shadows are forming,
While as the unwary pass by
Loathsome fiends are swarming.

Travellers are slowly walking
Beneath the moon's dire pall,
As in the darkened night
They can hear a dreadful call.

As the people attempt to flee
Behemoths start to holler,
Then as they folk start running
The leviathan horrors follow.
