In The Garden

James E. Spurgeon Jr. 1986 (New Jersey)

So foolishly have we been fooled
How cunningly was their cut
How they swore they made a score
But it all becomes hocus-pocus when their time is up
A mandate we were given, to replenish the earth and subdue it
Dominion over all the earth, to whom it was given it should be nothing to it
Man was created with all he'd need, free from jealousy and greed
It wasn't until his meet with Eve in which he was deceived
Because woman he sought to please instead of the Creator of his being
And then why try to flee, to cover up error with fig leaves
It's because you are what you eat, and now, from the tree of death would he conceive
Good and evil, reality, relativity is the cause for which we bleed
I'm praying that you see this, that from that way you would secede
Because Life is everlasting, eternal, and true
Will you awake to realize that at the center of trust and truth is "u"?
