Untitled

The radio has gone silent.
The streets are overflowing
With desperate people who will never
Get to where they're going.

The clouds sound like ethereal drums,
In a symphony with the sirens, hand in hand.
After playing God for far too long,
Finally, mortal, here we stand.

Attempting to remember life fondly.
Trying my best to forget I am somebody.
I put down my letter, ink still wet.
Carefully placed, though it will never be read.

Stepping onto the balcony,
Hearing the screams from down below.
No one minding their fellow man.
Everyone on their own.

The stars are in their last position.
The sky takes on her final hue.
As we silently say goodbye,
To everything we ever knew.
