When the World Stands Still !!!

When the world stands still !...

Captured by the deadly virus,
"Covid-19"! they named,
The world now stands a still!!!

There's what they call a locked down,
A quarantine, a self isolation;
A forced one too with no one 
     around.

A curfew on people, transports and
    labours,
Worships and gatherings,
Weddings, receptions too.

Houses locked in;
With parents and children.
The sound of  laughters,
Of sharing of untold stories;
Whistles of cookers,
Smells of home cooked cuisines!

A new vibe now passing from one to another;
Bringing home back,
with fresher energies.

A wild range of birds, beasts and sea creatures, now in abode!

Air less polluted, allowing a view
Of distant ranges clothed in emerald.
Wearing clear blue, the sea and sky,
Sending to earth an early shower.
Dusty summer! brings to nostrils
The breath of a mother,
Calling her children to rest in her
        bosom.

The governments in action! So do,
the health workers; with volunteers and helpers,
To care the affected!
Scientists in labs mixing solutions:
Testing on wild, later on humans.

Statistics show the number of deaths, Those tested positive!
Number suspected and number quarantined.
A threat! a pinch of fear!
A deadly silence around the air.

Yet in our nation's dirty politics,
MLAs go missing,
Leaders changing,
Overnight games played, 
With urging desires to cling on to
       power!

All ! at the cost of  Common man's
        ignorance.

'Midst all these stands, the One,
Knowing  perfectly well,
The answer to what,
"When the World stands still
Can man stand still? "
