endless hope, dreadful peace

Am I the evil one
the center of the universe
I've found life but at what cost
I look to my left and see the bodies of my comrades
I look to my right and I see the darkness of my sins
but when I look ahead I see light
I take another step
and with me moves the momentum of peace
but it is the peace I do not deserve
Am I the evil one
this peace gives me the wisdom to love
Am I the evil one
I'm sorry that I hurt you
you wont forgive me and I don't know how to ask you to
I have no right to have your forgiveness
yet you no longer have a grip on my life
I'm sorry old friend
I will always love you
maybe it was all a dream
the scars I have prove otherwise
I am
