The gurgle of anticipation as she looks in his eyes,
The squeal of delight as once more she flies.
Again and again
I imagine the scene
His gentle strength, her total trust, the warmth in between.
The dread of anticipation as I open my eyes,
The weight of despair as once more hope dies.
Again and again
I imagine the scene
But there's only one line, where two should have been.
About this poem
I wrote this as catharsis for my ongoing struggle to conceive.
