THE MIDNIGHT BAND

The Midnight Band plays songs of death
That waft out through the eerie night,
Evil songs that steal your breath away
Or wailing tunes that take your sight.

A melody of madness is ringing out
Played late at night by the Midnight Band,
Atonal screeching is filling the air
Death and terror reign through the land.

Songs of hate and songs that bring hurt
Are what the Midnight Band does play,
Songs that take you to the verge,
Then lunging take your sanity away.

Jingoistic pseudo-patriotic songs
Composed of fair atrocious rhymes,
Jangling discordant melodies
Designed to break the strongest mind.

Lightweight words of no substance
Yet somehow they bring on severe pain,
Inside your heart, your kidneys, and lungs
Resounding with terror within your brain.

Your heart is beating louder faster
As they play an abominable song,
Soon veins are bursting in your chest
A heart attack may come before long.

Your arteries are being choked
As the arrhythmic melodies go on,
Heart aching, heart near-breaking
As discordant themes become too strong.

The Midnight Band plays songs of death
Songs to drive you out of your head,
Tormenting, squeaking, squealing songs
Enough to make you wish you were dead.

THE END
