"That Young Kinda Love"

"That Young Kinda Love"

Is there anything like young love?

That awakening in the  innocence of, love.

That young, aching, hurting, longing, love.

That first time feeling it in my body, love!

That, all I know about love is what I  feel, love.

That every love song on the radio is a new revelation of love.

That, could be my last first kiss, love.

That, I'm a believer in, love!

That, just too damn good to be true, love.

That, too young to know you can lose it in a minute, love.

That, "missed it by that much," love.

That, still looking for "that young kinda, love."

About this poem

Well you gotta start some where with love and this poem is where it began for me. This poem is about my first love, my high school sweetheart. We dated for a year before either of us dare to acknowledge it was love regardless of the fact that both of us were helplessly in love from the moment we met. Story of the loss of this love, from first kiss, to first "official date," till gone without a word in one week, will have to be told in the book, suffice it to say that the whole trajectory of my life would change in one week. Yet the "Truth" of one lost love would lead me on a journey of love, seeking to once more be touched by the innocence of "that young kinda love."
