ISLAND OF TERROR

On the island of terror
No-one dares go out alone,
Goodness is a dream there
Only fear and hate are known.

Voodoo magic is performed
By the native oungan priests,
Calling up demon spirits
Putting decency out of reach.

Cannibals lurk on the island
Looking for human beings to kill,
To skin them, boil them then
Eat until they've had their fill.

Evil creatures of the dark
Roam the island late at night,
Hunting humans or animals
To feast before the daylight.

A witchy woman paddles by
In a canoe in a dank lagoon,
Hoping to perform evil rites
Under the light of a full moon.

On the island of terror
Only idiots go out after dusk,
For prehistoric carnivores
Will leave their bones in the dust.

Nobody goes there by choice
And no-one ever wants to stay,
Even the villagers would flee
If only they knew a safe way.

But leviathans fill the waters
Around the terrible island,
Waiting to swallow whole
Any animal or even man.
