Love's a fleeting Moment

Tammara Cappellano 1958 (Vancouver, Wa)

Love's a fleeting moment;
That takes you by surprise.
You know that you're a goner...
When you look into his eyes.

The smile that shows upon your face;
The warmth inside your heart.
The happiness that fills your soul,
Until he rips your world apart.

You never saw it coming.
You gave him all you had.
You thought you'd be forever;
But he's left you lost and sad.

He said that you'd be with him;
And he'd never leave your side.
No struggles, fights or arguments;
Or anger were implied.

You trusted everything he said;
You thought his words were true.
You planned a life together;
But his hate? You never knew.

Love's a fleeting moment.
That takes you by surprise.
You want to trust with all your heart;
But the words are only lies.

I want to think that there is love;
And happiness exists.
That a man can love me for myself;
Without a pre made list.

I am who I am meant to be;
It's hard to hide pride.
I hope that love will take the time;
To see what's me inside.

For now I feel so hopeless;
And happiness is gone.
There's no one left for me to love,
Or to be where I belong.

Love's a fleeting moment;
That takes you by surprise.
You know that you're a goner;
When you look into his eyes.

I hope you love forever;
Keeping moments in your mind.
That made you feel you were complete;
Because love... will make you blind.
