Growing Pains Again

As the darkness grows inside my mind,
I see a glimpse of hope,
That all dark things,
Can turn to the bright.

The light is dim now,
With potential to grow,
Removing my pains,
That seemed unending.

I am seeing it now,
As I look to the future,
It was there all along,
Hiding behind fear.

Because I am growing,
Not stuck at the age of seven,
My mind is expanding,
With all the things I have learned.

As the education becomes clearer,
And the steps look smaller,
I reach for this feeling,
Of comfort and trust.

No more will reaction,
Be the first feelings,
But a new way to feel,
Will be used to move on.

As I travel alone,
Down this road to full healing,
I will look back,
And see what I’ve done.

I have grown through tough times,
In hundreds of ways,
Taking examples,
From lessons that came.

I pass things I have learned,
To the ones who trust me,
So that growth doesn't stop,
At my learning feet.
