Normal

Normal

It’s like my tears have a path they travel down my cheeks, they fall so often.

My fingers have indentions from fiddling with an object for so long.

I was going to be diagnosed with a heart condition because it never stays right.

What are nails?

It takes more muscles for me to smile than to frown.

Anxiety,

I have a bruised knuckle that ‘I don’t know what happened’ isn’t the phrase anymore

‘Okay’ is the only energy I have left to fight with.

Conversations to stay in contact just to become more detached at the end of the discussion.

Someone asking how my day is, for me to get defensive like they wanna know my business.

Was I really a happy go lucky person? How is it that I’ve let myself get consumed with such evil and dark that I can’t stand myself?

About this poem
