A Mother's Love

Keith C Austin 1960 (Brisbane)

From a seed we grow, all warm and safe
In mothers’ womb we lie and wait
‘Til time comes for us to see
This big wide world of land and sea

Time passes and trouble we have
But mother is there for us to be brave
We grow bigger and bigger when time it seems
Our mother is outgrown and never we’re seen

But in times of trouble our mother is there
And she knows all, what we do, say, and swear
When mother is gone, and we live on
A mother’s love will never be gone

When it’s our turn for us to go
So old and so fast did we grow
We float into our mothers’ waiting arms
And again, we feel her grace, love, and charm
