On Anger

Do not blame me
for something I have not done

do not blame me
for a decision I have not made

do not torture me
for our own innate humanity

do not feed me anger
over agony I have not induced

do not take out your hatred
upon an innocent heart

do not eat my agony as satisfaction
for a job well won

do not gauge out my eyes
for then, I will never see

from them, i will never see
if you blind me with words of demise

I will not feel your pain
in the shame you throw upon me

I will not understand your injustice
if I am pushed to the bounds of my limits

there will be no intimate bond
no acceptance or trust
in the eyes of an enemy

until our ego is lost
and our strive for revenge has ended here

in our emotions we observe understanding
and it is here
we must embrace our insanity

it does not come without discomfort
this unveiling of ours
where uncertainty trumpets

but interest yourself in the intricacy
and your awakening
isn’t afar
