Broken Love

I loved and I loved again
Naive to the consequences of my hearts desire
I began to pour the essence of my heart into yours
But you began to over flow, flooded by my existence
I thought I was doing everything right
I loved and I loved again
Unable to take it all in
It was too much for your broken heart to handle
The time we first met you were completely broken
And like a bird with a broken wing
I was there to nurture you, I tried to fix you
But in the end I was abandoned and shattered
With the roles now reversed
I loved but never again.
