Angel of the Night

jody l cooke 2021 (north carolina)

You are always in my dreams at night.
You have always been there for me even,

When things didn't go quite right.
Just one look upon your sweet face, I

Fall from grace, with a love that shines through
The darkest place.

I want you to know that you are the star
That I embrace. Oh, angel of the night, who

Spreads her wings for flight kissing
Dawn’s early light.

You are always watching over me even
When I hurt you and I'm too blind to see, how

Much you really mean to me.
Even when life shuts and locks its doors.

You always seem to hold the key, you set my
Soul free. Oh angel of the night, who
Spreads her wings for flight.
Kissing dawn's early light. You are always

Watching over me, even when I hurt
You and I'm too blind to see,

How much you really mean to me. Even when
Life shuts and locks its doors. You
Always seem to hold the key.

You set my soul free. Angel of the night, who
Spreads her wings for flight.
Kissing dawn's early light.
