There’s a dragon in my fridge

Nikki Lauder 1979 (Taumaranui)

I do believe there’s a dragon in my fridge.
With a glint in my eye,
A skip in my step,
And fresh air in my lungs,
I face the day.
A small smile finds my lips.
With love in my heart,
Thoughts cross my mind,
And I wonder?
Why are there footprints on the tiles?
There’s a dragon you see,
Inside you, inside me.
He is the fun that we make,
The mischief in our laugh,
And the wind in our hair.
The dragon has always always been there.
He’s the ants in our pants,
The itch on our palm,
And the burn of an ear.
He is you, he is me.
The dragon is we.
He is the care that we show,
The wisdom we teach,
And the knowledge we hear.
Inside you, inside me.
The dragon is life.
The dragon is free.
